The settlement of Bridgend dates back to Roman times, but there are several prehistoric burial mounds that have been discovered in the area that are thought to be even older. Originally named after a bridge spanning the River Ogmore, Prior to the 1960's there was occasional flooding, however the construction of a flood barrier has since solved this issue. Roughly equidistant between the cities of Swansea and Cardiff, Bridgend is a part of Glamorgan. Since the1980's it expanded rapidly and now has a population of roughly 40,000.
Bridgend is well served by transport links. It is close to Cardiff Airport and is served by a frequent railway services to London Paddington and Cardiff, making a Bridgend Property an ideal choice if you are looking to commute.
